Fic Retrospective: 2021

A little early, but since I suspect I won't have much time to work on anything major this year, here is my fic retrospective of 2021! The basic meme copied from last year.
Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, less than you thought, or about what you predicted? About what I predicted.
Where did you publish/archive your stories? At AO3, Twitter and my Neocities site.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2018? Utena, What We Do In The Shadows, Squid Game.
What's your own favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest? Heart Into A Tomb, my great Stokercest epic.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them? I dabbled in gen and wrote a 20k fic in less than a month. Importance of First Impressions, my Jon/Daisy historical romance thing, was also quite an unusual story for me and a challenge to write.
My best story of this year: You Are Safe With Me, the one where Jon is the bride of Mr. Spider and runs off to the Institute, where he meets Elias.
Okay, NOW your most popular story: Discounting WIPs, Lion Hearts, the one where Jon is a were-plushie.
Most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Scared Living, my one original statement fic.
Story that could have been better: Lots of things probably, but Take You As You Are, the story where Elias holds doll!Jon captive, probably could have been stronger.
Most fun story: Spirited Away, my dragon/Jon noncon fic, was a delight to write.
Sexiest story: To Be Your Ingenue, the serial killer!Elias/teen!Jon mundane AU fic.
Story with single sweetest moment: Lion Hearts, easily, with the Jon/Martin convo at the end.
"Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story: The Most Darling Boys, my attempt at ageplay with adult characters.
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: I thought I had a solid opinion about what Tim's parents should be like, but Heart Into A Tomb threw a wrench into this idea.
Hardest story to write: Importance of First Impressions was challenging, but I think the end result was quite good.
Easiest story to write: All The Time In The World, the Jon/Martin non-con with King Jon, was like flowing water to write.
Most overdue story: Jumped In And Sank, the latest Therapy AU story.
Biggest surprise: Just a Nibble. What do you know, a relatively non-fucked up Tim/Sasha.
Favorite Opening Line(s): From Live Meeting, an Elias/Rosie non-con:
The call, as always, comes from inside Rosie's head.
Favorite Closing Line(s): From Heart Into A Tomb:
Hand in hand, they walk into their tomb.
Top Scenes from Anywhere You Would Choose to Have Illustrated:
* Jon getting undressed in You Are Safe With Me.
* Elias fucking Jon with a knife on his throat in To Be Your Ingenue.
* Tim in his mother's lingerie, getting fucked by his father in Heart Into A Tomb while Danny watches.
Most revealing story: Before It Grows, the Jon/Martin with forced abortion was my dark id on display for that ship.
A story I want remembered: Heart Into A Tomb.
Story I haven't yet written, but intend to: Too many.
Fic-writing goals for 2021:
- Write more fic.
- Work on my existing fics.
- Do fic for WWDITS and Arcane.
- Try to do something original.
- Try to get back into poetry.
